Choosing the right Event Frequency for your event
Getting the frequency of your event right in your profile is essential for making sure your event shows up at the right time, in front of the right audience. Event profiles are automatically unpublished when your event has wrapped up, so it's really important that you select the right frequency to maintain your event's visibility. (See: When will my event profile be unpublished?)
Event Frequency Options
Annual Events: Happening once a year, like Sydney’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks, these are events that people look forward to every year.
Daily Events: These are events that run every day of the year, like The Penguin Parade at Phillip Island, where visitors can watch the penguins return to shore every evening, year-round. It's a unique Australian wildlife experience that runs daily, offering visitors the chance to experience it no matter when they visit. Only choose Daily Events if your event runs every single day throughout the year. For example, Floriade runs daily for one month but is considered an Annual Event, not a daily one.
Once-Only Events: For single-day or limited-time events, like a special exhibition or one-off concert, this type highlights something that’s not going to happen again soon. Once-only events are unpublished and removed from your dashboard once the event ends.
Biannual Events: Occurring twice a year, like seasonal markets or fashion shows, these events make the most of Australia’s changing seasons.
Fortnightly Events: Held every two weeks, like Fortnightly Farmers Markets, these events bring the community together regularly.
Quarterly Events: Happening four times a year, like seasonal wine and food festivals, perfect for celebrating the best of Australia’s local produce.
Biennial Events: These occur every two years, such as Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi, offering a major event that’s worth waiting for.
Monthly Events: Occurring once a month, like Melbourne’s Craft Market, these events give locals and tourists a regular taste of the best artisan goods.
Weekly Events: Happening every week, like the Eumundi Markets in Queensland, these events draw a loyal crowd of locals and tourists every weekend.
