Frequently Asked Questions

What is considered a Meal?

A meal is typically considered a substantial serving of food that forms a main part of breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Meals differ from light snacks or beverages, offering a more complete and filling dining experience.

What if I don't serve Meals?

Don't worry, if you serve anything from light snacks, brunch and high tea to baked goods, you'll get a chance to specify this in Cuisine Types. If you only sell coffee, cocktails, wine, beer or other beverages, you'll also be able to add this as a Cuisine Type (See: Cuisine Type)

Are Bar Snacks a Meal?

If your Bar snacks tend to be lighter, more casual offerings like chips, nuts, or small bites, they are generally not considered a full meal.

However, if your bar snacks include more substantial items like sliders, pizzas, wings, or platters that can satisfy hunger, they could be considered closer to a meal, depending on portion size and variety. So customers know what to expect, you can clarify the type of food you provide, through your description, videos, photos and by adding a menu URL to your profile.

Is a charcuterie board or tasting platter a meal?

A charcuterie board can be considered a meal depending on its portion size and the variety of items included. If it offers enough substance - such as meats, cheeses, bread, fruits, and accompaniments - it can serve as a light meal for one or more people. However, it may also be viewed as a shared appetiser or snack, so it’s best to describe it clearly to help customers understand whether it can serve as a full meal or not.
