What is a Main Meal?

A main meal refers to the central or most substantial dish typically served during lunch or dinner. Main meals are often the heart of a dining experience and are more filling than appetisers. Keeping your meal prices up-to-date helps potential customers make informed decisions and ensures transparency in your offerings.

How to determine Main Meal Prices

When specifying your main meal price range:

Main Meals Only: Consider only main meal dishes on your menu, not appetisers or desserts. (See: What is a Main meal?).

For Breakfast Only: If you only serve breakfast, you should still select the price range that reflects the majority of your breakfast dishes.

Surcharges: Do not include additional fees such as Public Holiday Surcharges in your calculations

Set Menus or Specials: Do not include set menus or specials that include multiple courses in your price range calculations

When to update my Meal Prices?

You should update your meal prices whenever there are significant changes to your menu or pricing structure. Here are some key times to make updates:

Menu price changes: If you’ve adjusted the prices of your main meals, be sure to reflect those changes in your profile.

Seasonal menu updates: If your pricing varies seasonally, ensure that the correct price range is displayed based on the current menu.

New dishes added: If you introduce new main meals with different price points, review and update the price range accordingly.

Special promotions or offers: If you have long-term discounts or special offers that affect the main meal prices, update the price range to reflect this.

Annual reviews: Consider reviewing your meal prices annually to ensure accuracy and relevance.
