What is Google Authenticator?
Google Authenticator is a free app from Google that generates time‑based one‑time passcodes used as the second step of Multi Factor Authentication (or MFA), adding a strong layer of protection to your Google Account and other services that support authenticator apps.
Why use Google Authenticator?
Google Authenticator generates a 6-digit time-based code that refreshes every 30 seconds, which users enter after their password to complete secure login.
While other authenticator apps (such as Microsoft Authenticator or Apple’s built-in Passwords app) work similarly and are fully compatible, we recommend Google Authenticator because our platform’s multi-factor setup and QR code are built using Google’s underlying authentication standard, ensuring the most seamless and reliable experience.
Google Authenticator is available for both Android and iPhone, and you can add our platform by scanning the QR code or entering the setup key provided during the MFA setup process. (See: Setting Up MFA on your Account)
Setting up Google Authenticator
Install Google Authenticator on your phone from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone) to generate verification codes on the device you carry.
