How to Access MyPL Mandatory Training (NSW Department of Education)

Updated over a month ago

If you're a teacher working in NSW public schools or approved early childhood centres, you're required to complete a series of mandatory training modules through the NSW Department of Education’s MyPL platform.

Your verification status on ClassCover is directly linked to your training completion in MyPL – and schools use this status to determine whether you're approved to teach. Staying on top of your training is an important step in maintaining your eligibility and securing more bookings.

Why Your MyPL Training Matters

ClassCover syncs with the NSW Department of Education to verify that you've completed all required training. If you're missing any modules or your records haven't been updated, your verification status may change – for example, from a green tick to orange or grey.

Schools can see this verification tick next to your name, and some may choose to book only fully verified teachers. Keeping your training up to date gives schools confidence that you're ready to teach and compliant with Department standards.

How to Access MyPL

  1. Visit MyPL: Click here to access the MyPL home page.

  2. Navigate to the Mandatory Training Tab: Once on the MyPL homepage, locate and select the Mandatory Training tab.

  3. Check Your Training Courses: Ensure that your Mandatory MyPL Training Courses are valid and up to date.

💡 Tip: Complete your training as early as possible – it can take up to 72 hours for changes to be reflected on your ClassCover profile.

Annual Competency Check (ACC) Update

From Term 1, 2025, the NSW Department of Education replaced multiple refresher modules with the new Annual Competency Check (ACC) – a single, role-specific module designed to take around one hour to complete annually.

To access the ACC in 2025, all mandatory training due in November–December 2024 needed to be completed by 6 December 2024. Teachers who missed this deadline were required to complete individual modules instead, resulting in additional workload.

Important Update – Annual Competency Check (ACC) Courses in MyPL

The NSW Department of Education has advised that updated Annual Competency Check (ACC) courses will be made available in MyPL in early 2026.

Soft launch date: 19 January 2026
