Your handy guide to sending in Brazil

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can send One-Way and Two-Way SMS in Brazil.

However, you can't send MMS messages.

Available Sender IDs

You can choose from a few Sender ID options when sending to Brazil.

Registration and fees may apply.

Not sure which one to choose?

See our Sender ID guide or contact support — we're happy to help.

Shared Short code

Shared short codes are free, ready to use, and don’t need registration. Messages will be sent from our pool of local Sender IDs, so the number might be different each time.

Shared numbers are recommended for one-way messaging only.

Dedicated numbers

Send from a trusted, local number. Your messages will always come from a consistent Sender ID, which is perfect for establishing trust and recognition.

To purchase a dedicated number, please contact support.

Dedicated number registration usually takes 1 week.

Registration requirements

When purchasing a dedicated number, you will need to provide:

  • To register, you’ll need to provide evidence of compliant opt-in processes (a screenshot or weblink) for every contact that will be sent marketing messages.

  • An example message- note that OTP are not allowed.

Short codes

Short codes are 5-6 digits long and offer superior throughput — ideal if you plan to send a high volume of messages.

To purchase a short code, please contact support.

Short code registration usually takes 3-4 weeks.

Alpha tags

Alpha tags allow you to use your brand name as your Sender ID instead of a number. Recipients cannot reply to messages sent using an alpha tag.

To register an alpha tag, please contact support.

Alpha tag registration usually takes 2-3 months.

Registration requirements

When registering an alpha tag, you will need to provide:

  • Company Name

  • Alpha Tag (maximum of 11 characters with no spaces)

  • If you're an International Business and want to send to Brazil, a Global Sending Specialist will email you forms that you must complete.
