Most screens in OriginsNext, such as Products, Orders, Participants, Product Templates and Evidence, show your data in a list with the same set of controls at the top. You can search, filter, sort, choose which columns appear, change the row height, export the list and move through pages. You can also save a configured list as a reusable view with ONX Views.
Search
Use the search box at the top of the list to find records by text. The list shows only the records that match what you type and hides the rest.
Filter
Click the filter icon to add a filter. Each filter is made of a column, an operator (such as 'contains') and a value. Click Add filter to combine more than one, or the remove (X) control to clear a filter. Some lists also have a quick status filter (for example, Active).
Filter operators
The operator is the middle part of a filter: it decides how your text is compared to the value in the column. Most columns hold text and offer these six operators.
Operator | What it shows | Example |
contains | Rows where your text appears anywhere in the value. | Typing Farm matches both North Farm and Farm 12. |
does not contain | Rows where your text does not appear anywhere in the value. Use it to exclude a product type or a site. | Typing Farm hides both of the rows above. |
equals | Only rows that match the whole value exactly, with nothing before or after it. | Farm 12 matches Farm 12, but not Farm 120. |
not equals | Every row except those that match the whole value exactly. | Farm 12 shows everything except Farm 12. |
starts with | Rows whose value begins with your text. Useful for an identifier prefix. | GLN. matches every value beginning GLN. |
ends with | Rows whose value finishes with your text. Useful for matching the last characters of an identifier. | -01 matches SGTIN.BATCH-01. |
Note: Operators are not case sensitive, so farm and Farm return the same rows.
Operators on date, number and choice columns
Columns that do not hold free text offer operators suited to their data instead of the six above:
Column holds | Operators available |
Date | is, is not, on or after, on or before |
Number | equals, not equals, greater than, greater than or equal, less than, less than or equal |
Choice (a fixed set of values, such as a status) | equals, not equals |
Note: A few columns deliberately offer fewer operators than listed here. For example, the Relationship column on the Participants List offers only equals, because it holds a fixed set of values.
Sort
Click a column header to sort the list by that column, and click it again to reverse the order.
Show or hide columns
Click the columns icon to manage which columns appear. Toggle each column on or off, use Find column to locate one quickly, or use Show all and Hide all.
Change the row height
Click the row height icon and choose Compact, Standard or Comfortable to fit more rows on screen or make them easier to read.
Export
If available, click the export (download) icon to export the current list. The list will download in a CSV format split into 1,000 records per file.
Move through pages
At the bottom of the list, set Rows per page and use the page arrows to move between pages. The list shows the current range and total, for example '1-50 of 117'.
Save a view
To save a configured list (its filters, sorting and columns) and reuse it later, use ONX Views.
