Using the Home Page Features on The Hub

Welcome to the hub! In this article, we will show you how to use the features available on the home page. These features are: the announcements bar, notification bell, the to-do checklist, the search engine, and finally SLINKY.

Announcements Bar

The announcements bar can be immediately seen when you log into the hub. This is managed by an admin from your team or organization. The announcement bar can show either static content or links to other websites. The marking message can be viewed at the top of the homepage and this will continue to show all active announcements until it loops back to the first message.

Notification Bell

The notification bell is located on the top right hand corner of the hub. At the time of writing, the notification bell sends alerts to you whenever an announcement is posted. Clicking on a notification will take you to the page where the corresponding announcement is found.

To-Do Checklist

The to-do checklist can be accessed on the top right hand corner of the screen, right next to the notification bell. After clicking on it, it will expand into a small checklist which will prompt you to add a new task. After typing the name of the task, press enter and it will add it on to your list. To mark a task as completed, simply check the box and it will be crossed out of your list. If you no longer wish to see a completed or cancelled task, you can press the trash icon right next to it and it will disappear from your list.

Search Engine

We have embedded the search engine within the hub to allow for web searches without having to open a separate browser or a new tab. The search bar sits at the top and center of your hub and clicking search will automatically open up a new tab with your search results.

SLINKY

For any further assistance for a more complex inquiry, you'll find our chatbot named Slinky at the bottom corner of your screen. When you click on message, you'll have the option to suggest an improvement or report an issue.
