Add students

Students need a Stile account to access the Sessions you release. Adding students is done via the Students page in each Subject. There are three methods.

Method 1: The Class code

Best for in-person or live video conference sessions where students are on their devices and ready to go.

Step 1: Get the Class code

  1. Click the green Students button to open the Students page;

  2. Share the 6-digit Class code (displayed in dark blue at the top of the page) with your students;

The whole Class uses the same code. The code expires every 14 days and is automatically replaced when you next visit the Students page. Check the Students page for the current code if a latecomer needs to join.

Step 2: Students join

  1. Students go to stileapp.com/invite and enter the Class code;

  2. They enter their school email address;

  3. If they already have a Stile account, they enter their password. If not, they enter their name and create a password;

  4. They click Let's go! to go straight to your Subject.

If a student has forgotten their password, they can reset it before continuing. See Reset your password.


Method 2: Invite via email

Best for remote learning, distance education, or when students are absent on the day the Class code is given. Students and teacher do not need to be online at the same time.

Step 1: Send invitations

  1. Click the green Students button to open the Students page;

  2. Click Invite students via email;

  3. Enter student email addresses in the text box, separated by commas or one per line;

  4. Click Send invitation email.

Step 2: Students join

Students receive an email with a link to join your Class. New users will be prompted to set up their name and password. Students with existing Stile accounts at your school are automatically added to the Class.

Once joined, students can log in directly at stileapp.com and no longer need the invitation email.

Method 3: Rostering with Clever

If your school uses Clever to manage student enrolment and rostering, then manually inviting students with Class code or emails is not necessary. Talk to your Clever admin for assistance.
