What businesses are not able to join ATDW?
If your business falls within one of the following excluded categories, it is not eligible for inclusion in our platform.
Non-Tourism Related Businesses
Any business that does not directly cater to leisure tourists or provide a tourism-related service. This includes businesses that primarily serve local residents or those traveling for non-leisure purposes.
Business-to-Business (B2B) Services
Companies that offer services exclusively to other businesses rather than directly to consumers, especially those not related to enhancing the tourism experience (e.g., corporate consulting services).
Unlicensed Accommodation
Properties that do not have the appropriate licenses or permits required to operate as a short-term accommodation, such as some unlicensed holiday rentals or properties listed on platforms like Airbnb without proper registration, are not eligible. Compliance with local regulations is a key requirement.
Retailers Without a Tourism Focus
General retail businesses that do not offer products or experiences specifically tailored to tourists or the tourism industry, such as local souvenir shops or specialty stores with a clear connection to the destination.
Rideshare Services
Businesses like Uber or Lyft that primarily offer ridesharing services are generally not eligible, as they do not provide a specialized tourism experience. These services are considered general transportation options rather than tourism-focused offerings.
Websites or Virtual Businesses
Businesses that operate solely online without a physical premise where customers can visit and access products or services are not eligible. This includes websites or virtual businesses that facilitate orders or bookings purely through the internet.
Travel Insurance Providers
Businesses that offer travel insurance, covering aspects like trip cancellations, flight delays, lost luggage, medical costs, and theft.
Human Resource Providers
Businesses that provide specific resources or services, such as cleaning services, are excluded. These services are often not directly related to enhancing the tourism experience.
Wholesalers or Inbound Tour Operators
Travel agents, wholesalers, and inbound tour operators that package and resell tourism products or services to other service providers or consumers.
These exclusions ensure that the businesses listed on our platform contribute directly to the tourism experience, offering tangible services and products that visitors can access and enjoy in person.

FAQ
My Business doesn't have a storefont, can I still have a profile?
We prioritise businesses that enhance the tourism experience with onsite services or attractions, so we require a physical premise where customers can access these services.
If your business doesn't have a storefront but offers a unique service, consider contacting us to explore possible exceptions or alternative profile options that might apply to your situation.
