Frequently Asked Questions

Why such large photo dimensions?

These larger dimensions also ensure your photos look great on any device, from desktops to smartphones, and across all distribution channels. This consistency in image quality helps enhance your online presence, making it easier for travellers to choose your business. So, investing in high-quality images is definitely worth it for the added visibility and appeal.

How do I re-size a photo?

Resizing images without losing quality can be challenging, but by following certain techniques and using the right tools, you can maintain the clarity and sharpness of your images. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Choose the Right Tools: Adobe Photoshop allows you to resize images using the 'Image Size' function. GIMP is a free alternative to Photoshop, that offers image resizing with options to preserve image quality. Online Tools like ResizeImage.net and PicResize offer online image resizing with quality preservation options.

  • Preserve Aspect Ratio: Always maintain the aspect ratio (the proportional relationship between width and height) of your image when resizing. This prevents distortion and helps maintain quality.

  • Use High-Resolution Images: Start with the highest resolution image possible. Upscaling images is challenging, so beginning with a larger, high-quality image is crucial.

  • Use Proper File Formats: Use lossless formats like PNG or TIFF if you need to resize and maintain quality. JPEG is a lossy format, meaning some quality is lost each time the image is saved, which can be more noticeable when resizing.

  • Sharpen After Resizing: Sometimes, resizing an image can make it appear softer. Applying a slight sharpening effect after resizing can help restore some of the perceived loss in quality.

  • Avoid Multiple Resizing: Try to resize your image in a single step rather than multiple stages. Repeatedly resizing an image can compound quality loss.

Why wont my photos save?

If you're having trouble uploading photos to your profile, it's likely due to the photo size or format not meeting the platform's requirements. To ensure successful uploads, your photos must comply with the criteria provided above. In this case, we recommend checking the size and format of your photos and adjusting them accordingly before trying again.

If your photos do meet the minimum criteria and you're still having issues, please connect with us. We'd be happy to assist.
