Deal Price & Deal Comment

Maximise booking confidence and build trust by offering transparent pricing information in either a Deal Price or a Deal Comment.

Updated over 4 months ago

Transparency around pricing builds trust, helps customers make informed decisions, and reduces confusion, leading to higher booking confidence and fewer cancellations.

Add Deal Price or Deal Comment

When adding pricing for your deal or offer, you have the choice of adding either a Deal Price OR a Deal Comment. The difference between a Deal Price and a Deal Comment lies in their purpose and how they convey pricing information to potential customers.

Deal Price

A Deal Price refers to the special or discounted rate. It is a pre-set, fixed figure that all customers will pay when they take advantage of your offer. This is useful when the price doesn’t change based on factors like seasonality or availability.

Example:

  • If you're running a standard 'Stay 2 nights for $500' promotion, your Deal Price is $500

Deal Comment

A Deal Comment doesn't commit to a specific price. Instead, it allows flexibility.

Example:

  • If you want to allow for different daily or seasonal rates, your Deal Comment might be: '2 nights from $500'

When to Use Deal Comment

There are a few instances where using a Deal Comment is going to serve you better than a Deal Price.

Seasonal Variations

If the price varies based on the season, you would use a Deal Comment to explain how the pricing may fluctuate.

Example:

  • A hotel might have higher prices during peak tourist season and lower prices during off-peak times. In which case, they would add the following Deal Comment, 'Price varies by season, starting from $300.

Additional Perks or Conditions

You can use the Deal Comment to explain added value or special conditions included in the price.

Example:

  • A resort may include a complimentary breakfast or a free guided tour, which adds value to the deal but doesn’t change the listed price. So their price comment might be, 'Includes complimentary breakfast and access to spa facilities.'

Price Ranges or Flexible Pricing

If the price of a service can change based on factors like group size, room type, or duration, a Deal Comment would clarify this without committing to one fixed price.

Example:

  • 'Prices start at $100 per night; additional charges for room upgrades'
