As a distributor partner, you have access to Australia’s most comprehensive and quality-assured tourism content. To help you integrate and make the most of this resource, here’s an overview of the content structure and how it’s organised within the ATDW platform.
By understanding and leveraging this content structure, you can create a richer, more engaging experience for your users, helping them discover the best of Australia’s tourism offerings.
Core Content Structure
ATDW content is structured around products - each representing a tourism business, attraction, event, or experience. Every product is categorised, classified, and described with a range of attributes and details, making it easy to filter, search, and display content in a way that best suits your audience.
Key Components
Categories
The broadest grouping of products. Examples include Accommodation, Attraction, Event, and Tour. See: Categories API Documentation
Classifications
More specific types within each category. For example, under Accommodation, classifications include Hotel, Resort, Hostel, and more. See: Classifications API Documentation
Attributes
Features or facilities associated with a product, such as WiFi, Parking, Pet-Friendly, or Beachfront. See: Attributes API Documentation
Tags
Keywords or labels that help describe the unique aspects of a product, like “Family-Friendly” or “Eco-Tourism”. See: Tags API Documentation
Regions, Areas, and States
Geographic information that allows you to filter products by location - from state and region down to suburb or area. See: Regions API Documentation
Product Details
Each product includes a unique ID, name, description, images, contact information, and other relevant details. See: Product Detail API Documentation
Services
For some products (like accommodation, tours, hire and transport), you can access service-level information, such as room types or tour options. See: Product Detail API Documentation
How Content Is Accessed and Filtered
The ATDW API enables you to:
Filter products by category, classification, attribute, region, state, or city.
Search using full-text keywords, geospatial (location-based), or polygon (custom area) filters.
Retrieve lists of categories, classifications, attributes, tags, regions, and areas for use in your integration.
Fetch detailed information for any product using its unique ID.
All these features are documented in the official ATDW API Guide.
Why Structure Matters
A well-organised content structure means you can:
Deliver highly relevant search results to your users.
Build advanced filtering and recommendation features.
Keep your content fresh and accurate with regular updates.
