The Australian Wildlife Traceability System (AWTS) mobile app is a purpose-built Android app for recording coral traceability events in the field, such as tagging, fragging and packing coral. You install it yourself from the Google Play Store on your own Android device (a bring-your-own-device, or BYOD, setup).
Important: The AWTS mobile app is available for Android only. There is no iOS (iPhone or iPad) version. On a computer you use the standard OriginsNext web app in a browser instead.
Before you start
Before you install the AWTS mobile app, make sure you have:
An Android device running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or newer.
A Google account signed in to the Google Play Store.
Enough free storage space on your device for the app to download and install.
Install the app from the Google Play Store
On the Google Play Store the app is listed as AWTS: AU Wildlife Traceability, published by OriginsNext Pty Ltd.
To install the AWTS mobile app from the Google Play Store:
On your Android device, open the app's Play Store listing directly: AWTS: AU Wildlife Traceability on Google Play. If you would rather search, open the Google Play Store and search for AWTS: AU Wildlife Traceability.
Check the developer shown on the listing is OriginsNext Pty Ltd before installing, so you do not install a similarly named app by mistake.
Tap Install and wait for the download and installation to finish.
When installation finishes, an Open button appears on the Play Store listing and the AWTS app icon appears on your home screen or in your app drawer. If your device was supplied pre-configured for fieldwork, the app may already be installed, so check your app list before installing it yourself.
Open the app for the first time
After installing, open the app to reach the login screen:
Tap the AWTS app icon on your home screen or in the app drawer.
A splash screen showing the app branding appears while the app loads.
Tap Login to go to the login screen.
To sign in, see How do I log in to the AWTS mobile app?
