Before you can raise an Order for coral you are selling, the buyer has to exist in your Ecosystem as a Participant. A Participant is any organisation you trade with, ship through, or are regulated by. Adding your buyer once makes them selectable everywhere you need them: on Orders, on traceability Events, and when you share Evidence.
Before you start
To add a Participant you need the User or Administrator role in your organisation. Have the buyer's registered business name to hand, or their ABN or ACN if they are an Australian business.
Add the buyer
To add a buyer to your Ecosystem:
Go to Ecosystem Registries > Participants.
Click Add participant.
Under Identification, choose Organisation.
Choose Search Business Register and look the buyer up by Business Name, ABN or ACN. If they are an overseas buyer, or they do not appear, choose Manually Enter Organisation and type their details in.
Under Relationship, select Buyer, and set whether the relationship is Direct or Indirect.
Enter the buyer's full address. The Business Register lookup does not bring the address across, so you need to type it in.
Under Primary Contact Person, optionally add the name, email and phone number of your usual contact.
Click Save and Close.
The buyer now appears in your Participants List with an Active status.

Why the address matters
Enter the buyer's full address even though it is not the fastest path through the form. The Specimen Export Record (SER) you generate for an export Order draws on the buyer's details, so an incomplete address means an incomplete SER and a delay at export.
Choose Buyer, not Supplier
Select Buyer when the other organisation buys coral from you. The relationship type records how the two organisations are connected, and it controls which Participants and their data appear in your look-up lists across OriginsNext.
Relationships are one-sided and instant. There is no handshake to wait for, and the buyer does not need to accept anything or even have an OriginsNext account of their own. OriginsNext creates the mirror relationship automatically at the same time, so you do not need to ask them to add you back.
Choose Direct when you sell to them yourself. Choose Indirect when they sit further along the chain, beyond an organisation already in your Ecosystem.

What happens next
With the buyer in your Participants List you can select them as the counterparty on an Order. Next, add the location you will be shipping the coral to.
