This article provides detailed information for an Admin or a user with ‘Manage Training’ permission on how to edit a competition.

Accessing the Multi-level competition to be edited

You can access the list of all the competitions created by your org by selecting Competitions[1] card from the side navigation bar. You can edit the details and challenges within a multi-level competition by clicking the Action Icon[2] and then clicking View[3] button.

Editing Competition Details

You can edit almost all competition’s details at any stage before a participant solves a challenge.

You can edit a competition’s details by clicking on the competition’s Details [1] tab. To edit a section, click the Edit [2] button next to the section you wish to edit.

You can increase the number of levels in a competition in the editing mode by specifying the number in the Number of levels input field[1] . Note: You can’t reduce the number of levels in a competition.

You can edit any Section[2] that you wish to make changes to. You can save your changes by clicking the Save [3] button. Alternatively, you can cancel any changes by clicking the Cancel [4] button.

Similarly you can edit Availability, Pre-Competition Message and Post-Competition message by clicking Edit button.

After a Participant solves a challenge, you can’t make any changes other than the Competition End Date.

Editing Challenges

You can add and remove challenges at any stage before the competition has started. However, once a competition has started, you can only add challenges.

To edit the challenges within a competition, click on the Challenges [1] tab. Then click the Edit Challenges [2] button to edit the challenges in the competition.

Once you are inside the editing mode, you see checkboxes appear next to the challenges. You can click on the Checkbox [1] next to that challenge and then specify the level from the Assign Level dropdown[2].You can search for a challenge by clicking on the Search [3] icon or use the Filter[4] to apply filters to the table of challenges.

The search icon will open a Text Box that you can use to search for a particular challenge by name, as shown in the image below.

The Filter[1] button also allows you to search for specific challenges. You can filter challenges based on their Name, Category, Difficulty, Estimated Time to Solve and Points, in the Filter[2] dialog box as shown in the image below.

To remove a filter, click the Cross icon next to the relevant filter.

Adding new challenges to the competition.

You can add a challenge to a level by clicking on the Checkboxes [1] next to the challenges that you wish to add. After you select the checkbox(es) for challenge(s), an Assign Level[2] dropdown button appears. Select the desired option from the dropdown list. After selecting the level for the selected challenges, the Level column on the table should be updated(as highlighted below) and the challenge should be unchecked for those challenges.

Removing Challenge(s) from a level/Moving Challenge(s) from one level to the other.

If you wish to remove challenge(e) from a level or move already allotted challenge(s) to a different level- simply select the challenges to be removed/moved, and then from the Select Level dropdown, select the Remove/No level option[1] for removing the challenge, or select one of the Level option[2] for moving to new level.

Click Save[3] to save the changes and Cancel[4] to cancel any changes.

📖 Note: All labs in lab-based challenges have a duration of 2 hours. Participants can extend their lab instances as many times as they require, resetting their lab timers to 2 hours and retaining progress made. Participants can also reset their labs as needed, which will deploy a new lab instance and erase all progress.
