Booking a Casual Using ClassCover: Hub & Spoke Program (NSW Only)

If your school is part of the NSW Hub & Spoke Program, booking a casual using ClassCover is quick and straightforward – whether you’re on desktop or using the mobile app.

This guide walks you through how to send a pre-confirmed booking to a casual, and how the approval process works when your booking is sent to the Hub Admin.

Booking a Casual Using the ClassCover App

  1. Open the ClassCover app and log in to your school account.

  2. Tap on Bookings, then choose Pre-confirmed Booking.

  3. Tap on the casual you’d like to book and select a date.

  4. Fill out the booking details:

    A pop-up will appear for you to complete the booking details. Use the 'Reason for Absence’ field to specify the reason for the booking:

    1. Sick leave

    2. Professional learning

    3. Relief from Face-to-Face teaching (RFF)

  5. Optional: Add a message or upload files if needed.

  6. Tap Send Booking to finalise.

You'll receive a confirmation message at the bottom of the screen once complete.


Booking a Casual via Desktop

  1. Log in to your school’s ClassCover account via your computer.

  2. Click on Bookings from the left-hand menu and select Pre-confirmed Booking.

  3. Choose a casual from your list and select the date(s).

  4. A booking window will appear – fill in the key details:

    1. Class/subject being covered

    2. Reason for absence (e.g. Sick leave, RFF, Professional Learning, etc.)

  5. Optional: add notes or upload relevant documents

  6. Click Send Booking to submit.

You’ll see a confirmation message at the bottom once it’s sent.


What Happens Next?

The Hub Admin will receive your booking request for approval. Once approved, the booking will be sent to the selected casual. You’ll receive a confirmation via:

  • Push notification on the app (if installed)

  • Email confirmation

  • SMS (if you’re not using the app)
