Accessing the Chat Feature

Inside the course, you will find an Ask Your Mentors button on the top right of the page. You can access the chat drawer by clicking this button.

The Chat drawer is where you can type a message, which will be sent to all the mentors of the organization which has provided this particular course.

Type your message in the Text input[1] box, and you will see the Send button get enabled. Press Send[2] to send your message.

As you send your message, it gets added to the Chat thread[1] space. You can see the date and time when the message was sent here. To close the drawer, click the Close[2] icon on the top right.

Receiving messages from your mentors

When you receive message(s) from your mentors for a course, you will be notified on your landing page via a Number notification badge on the Landing page. The number represents the number of messages you have received. Press Enter to access the course.

Inside the course, you will find a Number notification badge on the Ask your Mentors button. Click on this button, to open the Chat drawer and see new messages.

The chat drawer will have new message from the mentors in the Chat thread space. All the historic messages live in this space. The message from mentors will be have the Organization logo as the avatar, along with the date and time at which the message was sent. Using the text input box, you can send another message to maintain the thread.

When you close the drawer, you will find that the notification badge disappears.
