This user guide contains information on how Admins/Managers with “Manage Trainings” permission can hide and/or show a competition scoreboard to participants.

Navigating to Competitions

To hide or show a scoreboard for a competition, you will need to either create a competition or choose an existing competition.

To hide or show a scoreboard for an existing competition, first navigate to Competitions [1], then click the Three Dots menu [2] and then View [3] a competition.

Choosing the Scoreboard Status for a New Competition

When you create a new competition, you will be able to choose whether the scoreboard will be displayed or hidden to participants.

To do this, navigate to Details [1] and then Scoreboard Visibility [2]. You can then click Edit [3] then switch the Display Scoreboard toggle [4] to being off or on. If the toggle is off, the scoreboard will be hidden to participants. If it is on, it will be displayed to participants.

Note that the default status of the scoreboard is for it to be displayed to participants upon creation of the competition - you do not have to change the default status if you do not wish to.

Once you are happy with the status of the toggle, you can click Next [3] to move to the next stage of creating the competition. If you change your mind about creating the competition, click Cancel [4] to leave without saving any inputs.

You will be able to hide or show a scoreboard at any stage during or after a competition. There is no limit to the number of times you change scoreboard visibility for a competition.

Editing the Scoreboard Status for an Existing Competition

To view the scoreboard status of an existing event, navigate to the Details tab [1] of the competition. You will be able to see whether the scoreboard is being hidden or displayed in the Scoreboard Visibility section [2]. To edit scoreboard status, click Edit [3] within the Scoreboard Visibility section. If the scoreboard is displayed, the Display Scoreboard toggle [4] will be switched on.

Once you click edit, you can switch the Display Scoreboard toggle [1] to being off or on. If the toggle is off, the scoreboard will be hidden to participants. If it is on, it will be displayed to participants.

Once you are happy with the status of the toggle, you can click Save [2] to finalise your edits. If you change your mind, click Cancel [3] to end the action without saving any changes.

Viewing the Scoreboard as Admin/Manager

If you wish to view the scoreboard as admin/manager, you can navigate to the Scoreboard tab [1] within the competition. You will be able to view all scoreboard data in Score Progression [2] and Leaderboard [3].

Importantly, you will be able to see a blue banner [4] which informs whether the scoreboard is currently being displayed or hidden to participants. If you wish to change the status of the scoreboard upon seeing the blue banner, navigate to the Details tab and follow the required steps outlined above.

Note that as admin/manager, you can view the scoreboard regardless of it being hidden or displayed. The hide/show scoreboard feature will affect the scoreboard view for participants of the competition only.

Note: changes to the scoreboard’s status (i.e. hidden or shown) will be reflected upon refreshing of the page - live updates will not be made.

Details to Note After a Competition Ends

After a competition has ended, the scoreboard will stay in the status that it was in when the competition ended. If you wish to hide a scoreboard after a competition (that was being displayed to participants), you will need to do this manually.

After a competition, participants will only be able to see scores over the entire competition duration. The option to view the last 24 hours of data is removed from view.

Participants will also only be able to see the Scoreboard tab within the event - the Competition and Overview tabs will be removed and participants will not be able to view any challenges or competition information aside from the scoreboard (if the scoreboard is displayed by the admin/manager).
