Accessing the rival team's approach page
When you are participating in a team-based competition, click on Scoreboard[1] card on the left navigation bar, which will take you to the Scoreboard page. Here you can see the Leaderboard[2] in the bottom half of the page.
The Leaderboard presents a list of all participating teams, arranged based on their competition rank, determined by the points they have scored. To explore the approach of a specific team, simply click on the View[3] button within the row corresponding to the desired team.
Viewing the Team's Approach
Upon clicking View button from the leaderboard for a team, a new page opens in your browser window.
Referencing the picture above, on this page you will find a Team Stats bar[1] on the top. In this bar, you can see
The team's competition rank (based on points achieved in the competition)
Team's progress status in the competition
Number of team members
Number of Points achieved
Number of Flags achieved or challenges solved
Number of First Bloods where "first blood" refers to the first successful capture or exploitation of a flag by a team.
To understand the team's approach or timeline in solving challenges in the competition, you can see the Approach[2] table.
This visualization offers valuable insights into the team's journey, shedding light on the their endeavor by showcasing a chronological display of when they opened a challenge, when they entered it, when and how many times they attempted it and when they solved it. This captures the team's allocation of time across each attempted challenge, providing a nuanced perspective on their approach.
The x-axis represents time, and each row represents a challenge that is included in the assessment.
Following team activity along with the time is recorded on this table:
Open- A “Open” event is the first time when challenge drawer is opened by a member of the team to view basic details of a challenge.
Started- After having viewed the basic details, a “Start” event occurs when a team member first engages further transitioning into the expanded challenge view. The expanded challenge view encompasses attachments, lab or container environments, and hints.
Attempt- An "Attempt" is logged when team members submit their response or FLAG for the challenge. Candidates have the flexibility to make multiple attempts according to their preference. Nonetheless, their efficiency rating gradually diminishes with each subsequent attempt.
Solved-A challenge is marked “Solved” when a team member enters the correct FLAG.
