Add an image to a Session

Updated over a week ago

The Image widget displays a picture or diagram in a Session without requiring a student response. It is not a question and does not include a text box. Use it alongside other widgets such as a Text box or Multiple-choice question by using the Side-by-side layout widget.

Note: The Image widget is not an image editor. To resize or annotate an image, use the Annotate Image widget instead.

Steps:

  1. Drag the Image widget into the Session from the content bar;

  2. Click Upload file and select an image from your computer, or drag the file directly into the widget;

  3. Add a media caption (optional) for credit or attribution;

  4. Add an accessibility caption for screen readers;

  5. Click Done to save.

Display options:

  • Show image edge to edge β€” expands the image to fill the full width of the Session or the side-by-side area;

  • Show download link only β€” hides the image and gives students a download button instead. A download link is always available below the image regardless of this setting.

Pro tip: You can paste an image directly from the web into a Session. Find the full-sized image, right-click and select "Copy Image", then click into your Session and paste with Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac). Stile will automatically create a new Image widget and upload the picture.
