📖 Note: This article explains what Self-Reported Accomplishments are, what they're for, and how participants can add them to their profiles.

What are Self-Reported Accomplishments?

All users on the FifthDomain platform have a section on their Manage Profile page called Self-Reported Accomplishments. This section allows you to enter your education, certification and other history onto your profile, highlighting any professional accomplishments achieved outside of the FifthDomain platform.

What are Self-Reported Accomplishments for?

If you are affiliated with an organisation on the platform, those with the ability to manage users within the organisation will be able to see your self-reported accomplishments when viewing your profile. This means that in addition to viewing the skills and performance data you have demonstrated on the platform via event participation, they will also be able to see what you have achieved outside of the platform, allowing for a more holistic understanding of your cyber capabilities and experience.

Click here to find out what your profile looks like when being viewed by a user with the Manage User permission within the organisation you are affiliated to.

For more information about affiliating with organisations on the platform, click here.

Navigating to the Manage Profile Page

To navigate to the Manage Profile page, click your profile icon [1]. This is always located at the top right corner of the page when you are logged into the platform. When your profile icon is clicked, a dropdown menu will open. Click Manage Profile [2] from the dropdown menu to navigate to the Manage Profile page.

Viewing your Self-Reported Accomplishments

Once you have reached the Manage Profile page, you will be able to see a section on the page called Self-Reported Accomplishments. There are three types of accomplishments that you can add to your profile. These are:

  • 1 - Education/Course - any formal education period by a certified education institution, for example, a university or course training provider, which results in a qualification. Training programs can also be included as this accomplishment type.

    • Examples: Bachelor Degree, Masters Degree, Short Course, Training Period

  • 2 - Certification - any certification earned by a certification vendor which confirms an individual’s expertise in specific areas and subject matters.

    • Examples: CompTIA Security+, CISM, CISSP

  • 3 - Other - a free text field where participants can describe any accomplishment they wish to add to their profile that does not fit into the other accomplishment categories.

    • Examples: volunteering periods, participation in community events

Editing your Self-Reported Accomplishments

To edit your accomplishments, click the Edit button. Clicking this button will open a modal window where you can add, delete, or edit your accomplishments.

Once this modal window is opened, click Add Accomplishment [1] to add a new accomplishment to your profile that you can edit.

Once you have added an accomplishment, you will see a section called New Accomplishment, which has a dropdown menu. Use the dropdown to select the accomplishment type you wish to add to your profile (choosing from Education/Course, Certification, or Other).

Once an accomplishment type is selected using the dropdown, the new accomplishment will become expandable, allowing you to fill in required details for the selected accomplishment type.

The details that can be filled in for an accomplishment will depend on the type that is selected in the dropdown. The input fields for each type are below:

After you have put in all required details for an accomplishment, you can add more accomplishment sections using the Add Accomplishment [1] button. You can also click Delete [2] to remove an accomplishment. If you would like to change an accomplishment's type, you can do so using the dropdown menus [3] any time. However, note that if you change the type of an accomplishment, any already entered details will be lost.

Once you are finished editing your accomplishments, click the Save [1] button to confirm your updates. Alternatively, click Cancel [2] to leave without saving inputs.
