This phase is about getting a better understanding of your personality and capabilities.
As part of this phase, we will ask you to do an online assessment. You won’t need to prepare for this but try and find a quiet room without distractions so you can focus on the assessment.
This phase also involves an in-person assessment centre. This is half day session where candidates complete a role play, a team exercise, written exercise, and an interview. It’s a chance for us to get to know you better, and for you to show off your natural skills and gain a better understanding of what working as a Corrections Officer is like.
Some of the things that we will be looking for at the assessment centre include:
Great communication, relationship building, and interpersonal skills
Alignment with our 5 values
Safety awareness
Critical thinking
Resilience during challenging situations
Ability to relate to people from all walks of life and cultures
