πŸ“– Note: This article explains how Team Managers can perform management-related activities for their teams (on the Team Management tab on a team's profile).

Choosing a Team to Manage as a Team Manager

To view your teams, click the My Teams button on the righthand corner of your screen.

Once you are on the My Teams page, you will be able to see all the teams you are currently part of. Each team shown on your My Teams page will display your role type for the team. Two role types are possible: Team Manager and General Member. For teams you are a Team Manager for, you will see a blue Team Manager chip. You will see a grey General Member chip on teams you are a General Member for.

Click View for a team that you have the Team Manager role type for. This will open up the team's profile, where you can then view and manage the team.

Navigating Team Profiles

Team profiles consist of two tabs. These are the Team Dashboard [1] and the Team Management [2] tabs. When you open a team's profile, by default you will land on the Team Dashboard tab, where both Team Managers and General Members can view your team's skill and performance-related information, and enter competitions your team is participating in. Click here for details on how to navigate your Team Dashboard. Click the Team Management tab to perform management-related activities for your team.

Understanding Sections in the Team Management Tab

As a Team Manager, your Team Management tab will consist of four sections. These are the Current Team Members [1], Invite New Members [2], Team Details [3], and the Delete Team [4] sections.

Managing Current Team Members

The Current Team Members section shows a list of all members within your team. You can view the alias [1] for each team member, their registration status [2] on the platform and their role type [3] on the team.

What are registration statuses?

Any user on the platform can have one of two registration statuses. These are Registered [1], represented by a green chip, meaning that the user has created an account on the FifthDomain platform, and Invited [2], represented by a grey chip, meaning that they have been invited to the platform via email, but have not yet created an account for themselves.

What are role types in a team?

Participants within teams can have one of two role types within their team. These are Team Managers [1], represented by a blue chip, and General Members [2], represented by a grey chip. Team Managers can view and manage their teams, whereas General Members can only view their teams.

All team members can participate in competitions equally - role types make no difference in the context of a competition event. Role types only differentiate between the possible actions that team members can perform in terms of managing a team (outside the context of a competition).

What can I do to manage my Current Team Members?

As a Team Manager, you will be able to perform three different actions on the team member list. You'll be able to see buttons for these three actions in the Actions column in the Team Member List. These actions are covered down below:

Leaving a Team

The first action you can perform is called Leave. Click this button to leave your team. If you choose to leave your team, you will no longer be able to view the team, manage it, or participate in competitions with it. You will no longer be able to access the team, even if you were its original creator.

Sometimes, the option to leave will be disabled. This will happen if you are trying to leave the team as the only Team Manager on it. Each team needs at least one Team Manager at all times, so if you are the only Team Manager left on a team, you won't be able to leave the team until there is at least one other Team Manager. In such cases, the Leave button will be disabled until another Team Manager is on the team.

πŸ“– Note: If you want to join a team again after leaving it, you will need to be invited to the team by a Team Manager. Click here if you want to read more about joining teams.

Removing Members from a Team

The second action you can perform as a Team Manager is removing members from your team. This can be completed by clicking Remove next to a team member you wish to remove. You can remove team members of either role type (Team Manager or General Member).

If you remove a team member, they will no longer be able to view the team, manage it (if they were a Team Manager), or participate in competitions with it. If you remove a team member mistakenly, you can invite them to the team again (this is covered further down in this article).

❗️ Warning: When team members leave or are removed from a team, they will be taken off its roster, and any data or contributions they made to that team will be lost. If they rejoin the same team later, the system will treat them as new members. As a result, they will be unable to retrieve any of their previous contributions to the team.

Changing Team Member Roles

The final action you can perform as a Team Manager on the Team Member List is changing the roles of team members. As a Team Manager, you have the ability to change a General Member to a Team Manager, and a Team Manager to a General Member. This can be done by clicking Change Role next to a team member whose role you wish to change. If you click the button next to a General Member, they will be given Team Manager abilities. If you click the button next to a Team Manager, they will become a General Member, losing their abilities to manage the team.

There is no limit to the number of times a team member's role type can be changed. You are free to change team member roles as many times as you need. Team Managers can change the roles of all members within their team, including their own roles.

Sometimes, the option to change your own role as a Team Manager will be disabled. This will happen if you are the only Team Manager left on your team. If this is the case, the Change Role button will be disabled. In such cases, the option to leave the team will also be disabled. To enable these buttons again, you will need to add more Team Managers to your team.

πŸ’‘ Remember: Each team must have at least one Team Manager at all times. If there is only one Team Manager on a team, some of their abilities will be disabled (i.e. changing their role to General Member, and leaving the team) until more Team Managers are added. There is no limit to the number of Team Managers a team can have. If required, all members of a team can be Team Managers.

Note that you will also not be able to change a team member's role if they are not yet registered to the platform. You have to wait for unregistered team members to be registered before you can change their role type.

Inviting New Team Members

You can invite new members to your team in the Invite Team Members section. Type or paste the emails of those you want to add to your team in the Invitee Email Addresses box within this section.

Once you have emails in the box, press Enter/Return on your keyboard. When you do this, the email addresses will appear as chips which you can remove individually by clicking the crosses next to an email you want to remove.

Click Send Invites when you are ready to invite added email addresses to your team. Once you do this, the owners of the emails invited will receive links to sign in or register to the platform. They will instantly become members of your team, and will be visible in your Team Member List. For more information on the process of joining the platform after being invited to a team, read this article.

Editing Team Details

You can edit your Team Name [1] and Team Avatar [2] in the Team Details section.

Click the Edit buttons [1] to open up edit mode for your Team Name and/or Team avatar.

Once you finish editing your Team Name or Avatar, click Save to finalise your changes. If you want to leave without saving, click Cancel.

Deleting Teams

If you wish to delete your team, click the Delete Team button.

❗️Warning: The action of deleting a team is irreversible. If you choose to delete your team, please be aware that all team history, data, and associated information will be permanently lost.
